Memorial Day
We had a GREAT Memorial Day!! We started the day of with our tradition of attending a Memorial Day service at the Admiral Nimitz museum in Fredericksburg, Texas. They have a nice service where they lay wreaths at the different memorials there in the garden. They also have the highschool band play the fight songs of each branch of the military and those attending stand to receive recognition. They always feature a guest speaker...this year it was Congressman Mike Connaway. Then they always recognize the oldest veteran in attendance which this year was 91 years old!! It is always a great way to remember the meaning of the day and we hope we are teaching the kids the importance of remembering and honoring our veterans.
After the very hot and sweaty ceremony we headed to a local german restaurant for lunch and hit the fudge shop for 2.5 lbs of fudge...key lime, snickers, dark chocolate, cookie dough, and mint chocolate!! Yum.
And as if we hadn't had enough fun already we headed out to Comal Park to bbq at the lake. It's a great park to let Jagg swim and get him really tired. It works on the kids too. We had an absolutely fun time at the lake and Jagg got to swim with a Vizsla friend he made at the lake...it was perfect. No pictures there...we were just having fun!!
