Fourth grade wax museum
The fourth grade project for February was to read a non fiction book about someone who had an impact on the history of America. Evan chose to read about Daniel Boone. He really enjoyed the book and all the stories about the American frontier and the adventures those pioneer people had. He did think it was strange that Kentucky was the "wild west" at that time. Looking at the map it's hard to believe our country didn't go very far west at that time!
The day of the museum was really cute. Each student was seated next to their desk and there was a button you could push on the desk that would have the student stand up and be in character and tell you a 1-2 minute speech about themselves. I was able to go and push several of the kids buttons and they all did a great job. Evan's about Daniel Boone was excellently done, or course!

Great picture of Evan, oh I mean Daniel Boone! Wish i could have been there to "push his button"!!!
That's a pretty cool way to have them present.
I remember doing this in 4th grade. I was Sacagewa, Lewis and Clark's Indian guide. This post brought back some memories for me. Love the hat, too!
