Our final detour/stop before making it all the way to Utah was Fish Lake. We were meeting up with the Fitlows, minus Jim, for a couple nights of camping and whatever. Whatever turned out to be not much. We're not sure what people do at Fish Lake, but we spent a lot of time wandering around, walking back and forth to the bathrooms, and eating. It was still enjoyable and a nice break from the driving.
There was a very big rock near the bathroom that was a hit for all the kids in the campground. They climbed up the back of the rock and peeked out over the top. There was a fort there and many of the kids were convinced the rock was really a slide and sported ripped pants from their adventures of sliding down.
The lake was VERY cold and soon after we trekked over there the clouds came and it started to rain a little. So the kids didn't do a lot of swimming.
The cooking and eating was fun and watching the 4 girls play and frolic together was fun too. Just not sure we'll go back to Fish Lake...we'll find somewhere else to meet up.
