Evan came home with the beautiful replica of Mount Vesuvius from school. He went on and on about the people who were buried alive and how they found their bones and the people died in the hot lave, etc. Fascinating stuff to a 7 year old little boy. The story was then followed by some reflective wisdom..."that must have hurt!!". I love the innocence of children!!

Tell him to check out Herculeneum. It was on the other side of Mt. Vesuvius when it blew and it got buried in ash, rather than lava. The whole entire town is pretty much perfectly preserved, down to the mosaics and pottery and everything.

It's really cool!
I'm happy to know that Evan now has another story to teach Trevan! You're awesome Ev.
