Happy Father's Day!

 Today was the day to celebrate Dave!  We were able to gather together and spend time together as a family celebrating Dave as the amazing father he is.   The kids always know where to go for advise and guidance.  He's the best cheerleader and attends everyone's events.  He can figure out how to build or fix anything and is always there to help with problems.  We love Dad!!

McKinley's 17th birthday

While McKinley was on her HEFY trip for her actual birthday we celebrated her when she got home!  She got a puppy!!  So cute...introducing Loki!  He's adorable and she's so happy.  Happy birthday princess!

 

Crazy events at our house today!

So today there was a strange accident at our house.  No one was home, but according to the neighbors a car came speeding up our dead end street, lost control of where they were going, and flew through our trees and mailbox to hit the back of our parked truck and hurl it into the neighbors driveway and car.  Scarey!!  Luckily no one was hurt, but our truck in totalled and the wall between our driveway and the neigboors no longer exists.  Not to mention the young man's car who caused the whole thing.  We did hear that the driver was not seriously hurt, even though he was not wearing a seatbelt and required ambulance attention at the scene.  We hope he will be ok and that lessons were learned from the expeience! 

 

USA mens soccer team game!

This soccer loving family was able to go to Rio Tinto and watch the USMNT play Costa Rica!  What a fun family (minus McKinley) date!  We love soccer!!

 

Memorial Day breakfast and work day

Our annual Memorial Day breakfast was held at Draper park this year.  We had a wonderful turnout with a yummy breakfast.  After eating we all head over to do a yard clean up for Nana/Grandad followed by a BBQ lunch.  It's amazing how much work can be done when we all work together!  Family is great!

 

McKinley's humanitarian trip to Costa Rica

McKinley saved and earned the money to be able to go on a HEFY trip for 17 days to Costa Rica.  She was brave and didn't know anyone she was going with and by the end of the 17 days she made some of the best friends she's had!!  So fun!  They worked hard and played hard in Costa Rica making a perimeter fence for a future home for trafficked women.   They were also able to do some tourist siteseeing and have some amazing adventures.  She's made some lifelong friends and learned valuable lessons about service and how good it makes you feel!  We love the HEFY program and are so glad McKinley had this experience.

 

Evan turns 20!

It was a special day to celebrate Evan today!  He's no longer a teenager!  Wow!!  Evan is such an amazing son and friend.  He's very thoughtful (most of the time) and willing to show his appreciation thru acts of service.  We were glad we were able to spend his birthday with him and have him around for the summer!
